A Puppy Sweeper board can take a minute or two. That's the fun of it, and also the catch: "just one more" can quietly turn into an hour. We'd rather you came back tomorrow feeling good than closed the app with tired eyes. So Puppy Sweeper has two optional tools to help you pace yourself.
Break reminders
In Settings → Play time, choose a Break reminder of 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours. After that much continuous play, a friendly "Time for a break" message tells you how long you've been playing and suggests resting your eyes and stretching.
It's a nudge, not a wall: tap "Keep playing" and carry on. The game clock pauses while the message is showing, so it never costs you a good time.
Play limits
If you'd like something firmer, set a Play limit of 1, 2 or 3 hours. When you reach it, Puppy Sweeper locks for a break length you choose: 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour. A countdown shows how long is left, and the game unlocks by itself when it reaches zero.
The lock is meant to hold, so it can't be skipped. Closing and reopening the app shows it again with the time remaining.
What counts as "continuous" play
- Time counts while Puppy Sweeper is open on screen, on any page.
- Being away from the app for 10 minutes or more counts as a break and starts the count again. So does sitting out a lock.
- Changing any play-time setting also restarts the count, so choosing a new limit never locks you out on the spot.
A few habits that help
- Look into the distance. A common rule of thumb is to look at something about 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes of screen time.
- Turn on dark mode in the evening (Settings → Appearance) for a gentler screen.
- Stop on a high. A paw-fect catch is a great place to put the phone down.
Both tools are off by default, and everything stays on your device. Turn them on if they help, and enjoy the puppies.
